Gari, a gifted young actress, has been entertaining audiences throughout Southern California since she was five, when she made her first public appearance at an environmental fundraiser in Ventura County, California. The song was “Born Free” and it was apparent, even at an early age that Gari was born to sing. In the past eight years Gari has made over 300 Live Performances, from the Thousand Oaks Arts Festival to the stages of L.A. to various competitions, Gari has been sharing her talent and perfecting her craft. With 2 Mavric awards for vocals and performing, and NMW nomination for 2009 Best New Artist, 2010’s Best Young Artist for a Better World, she also entertains with musical theatre companies in the area, for numerous benefits and city functions, as well as sporting events and private charity events. Highlighting her career was her appearance at the Canyon Club, where she opened for the Beach Girlz to hundreds of screaming fans. Gari released “Strange Behavior” a single Country Rock tune that debuted on KHAY radio station and is now become a Halloween classic among her followers. The youngest entertainer, to perform at Douglas Corner, a venue for FANFAIR for Nashville’s CMA’s, she sang her award winning single “Pocket Full of Stones” and met with rave reviews.
“Pocket Full of Stones”, her first single from the CD Touching the Eiffel Tower, is a powerful ballad dealing with homelessness from a tender point of view. It immediately zoomed up the indie charts and across the airwaves nationwide in 2009 and is still a favorite among listeners. “It is so exciting to know that people all over the country are listening to my music and really liking it,” relates Gari, who has already hit the Top 10 on the Independent Music Network’s Country and Mainstream Charts and is featured on both of their syndicated radio shows. “Music and entertaining are what I want to do for the rest of my life, so this is an amazing step for me.”
Along the way, Gari has also recorded three Independent Christmas CDs to help raise thousands of dollars for animal rescue organizations. Ever since she rescued her dog, Shadow, from a shelter this has become a project very dear to her heart. “When it comes to animals, I love them and want them to have a family,” acknowledges Gari, who also rescued a bird she calls Tweety. “My mother asked me what charity I wanted to donate the proceeds from my Christmas CDs to, and right away I knew it had to be for animal rescue. So far the proceeds have gone to the Agoura Animal and Rescue Shelter, which aids in animal rescues for fires and disasters in Los Angeles and Ventura counties.”
Every summer finds this young talent as a guest of the U.S. Navy Band in San Diego, jump-starting the annual Fourth of July Program with the National Anthem joining such renown Superstars as Smokey Robinson and Pat Benetar.
Presently working on a new collection of songs, Gari’s unique opportunity to use an original Christmas song, combine it with a heartfelt story to bring awareness to Appalachia, an American mining region is a project in the works….a result that will be in the winners circle next Holiday season.
Gari, also an actress and Ford Model, not only dedicates herself to her career as a performing/recording artist, but is a hard-working student and community oriented teen, entertaining several times a year at senior homes and hospitals and charities. Partaking in the local dance company gives her the “triple threat’ that is needed to succeed in this business. However, with all this on her plate, she still enjoys just being a fun-filled teen with friends and family. With the soul of a country singer and the performing skills of a pop star, Gari has been called the “Perfect Combination Cross-over Artist” “that is so cool, because I love to bring my songs to life, no matter if it’s a Country ballad or a rockin’ pop hit! It will be a ‘dream come true’ to go on tour and perform my songs onstage with the Country and Pop greats!”
